2022 Honda Civic to be launched in PH on November 23

It’s finally coming, the much awaited 2022 Honda Civic is coming to the Philippines on November 23 as confirmed by Honda Cars Philippines in a press release. The launch will be streamed online through the brand’s official Facebook page.

Not only that, HCPI has also confirmed a number of the 2022 Civic’s standard equipment which include a turbocharged VTEC engine, and Honda’s suite of intelligent driver-assist safety features dubbed as Honda Sensing.

First that means that all variants of the 2022 Honda Civic will be powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged i-VTEC petrol engine. If we base our information on the Thai-spec Civic, it should produce 176 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque, paired to an Earth Dreams continuously variable transmission. This is very much likely as we source our local Civic units from Thailand. This also means that the tried and tested R18 1.8L i-VTEC engine will be retired from the local Civic lineup. It has been available since the FD Civic was launched more than a decade ago.

Also, the availability of Honda Sensing on all variants means that all Civic models will come with Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation System with Lane Departure Warning (RDM with LDW), Auto High-Beam (AHB), Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow (ACC with LSF), and Lead Car Departure Notification System (LCDN), all as standard.

HCPI has also confirmed that the 2022 Civic will be available in three variants: 1.5 S Turbo CVT, 1.5 V Turbo CVT, and 1.5 RS Turbo CVT. No specific pricing was mentioned but they said that it will range between Php 1,300,000 and Php 1,700,000.

Five colors will be made available: Morning Mist Blue Metallic, Meteoroid Grey Metallic, Ignite Red Metallic (exclusively for 1.5 RS Turbo CVT), Platinum White Pearl (for 1.5 RS Turbo CVT and 1.5 V Turbo CVT only), Lunar Silver Metallic (exclusively for 1.5 S Turbo CVT). It is also good to note that the first two colors are new for 2022.

To celebrate the launch of the 2022 Honda Civic, HCPI will offer customers the chance to purchase a Platinum White Pearl Civic for all variants at no additional cost until November 30, 2021. However, only a limited number of 1.5 S Turbo CVT units in Platinum White Pearl will be made available.

Furthermore, customers who will reserve the 2022 Civic 1.5 V Turbo CVT variant until December 31, 2021 are entitled to a free Modulo Trunk Tray and Modulo Exhaust Pipe Finisher on top of all other promotions offered for the month of the vehicle release until January 31, 2022. Units of the 1.5 V Turbo CVT variant will arrive in January 2022.
