2022 Kia Carnival officially in PH, starts at Php 2.54M

Riding on its momentum which started late last year with its brand relaunch and the introduction of the 2022 Sorento and Stonic Style Edition, Kia Philippines today officially introduced the all-new 2022 Carnival.

Dubbed as a “Grand Utility Vehicle,” the Kia Carnival minivan is now in its fourth generation, first making its world debut back in mid-2020, and now is finally available locally.

For 2022, the all-new Kia Carnival gets two variants, the EX and SX, both with a 7-seater configuration. Yes, the 11-seater versions have been discontinued, at least locally for now. The overall design is completely new with a bolder, more premium, and more high-tech appearance.

Standard exterior equipment include LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, LED fog lights, 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels, dual power sliding doors, power tailgate, and full-width wraparound LED taillights.

Inside, just like the exterior, the all-new Carnival is also elevated with a more high-tech and modern-looking cabin. Standard equipment include 2nd row captain seats, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 6-speaker audio system, and tri-zone automatic climate control.

Going for the SX variant adds ‘Premium Relaxation Seats’ for the 2nd row with heat and ventilating functions, front heated and ventilated seats, wireless phone charging pad, and dual power sunroof.

Under the hood of the all-new Kia Carnival is a 2.2-liter Smartstream turbodiesel powertrain that produces 202 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque, paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

In terms of safety, the all-new Kia Carnival is well upgraded with new driver-assistance tech features as standard such as blind-spot monitoring, reverse camera, and front and rear parking sensors. The SX adds lane-keep assist, forward collision avoidance assist, and rear cross traffic alert.

For pricing, the all-new 2022 Kia Carnival’s suggested retail price starts at Php 2,540,000 for the EX variant, and goes up to Php 2,998,000 for the SX variant. Going for the Snow White Pearl exterior color costs an additional Php 10,000. Customers will also be able to take advantage of a 5-year 160,000 kilometer warranty.

Do you think the all-new 2022 Kia Carnival have what it takes to compete with other premium minivans such as the Toyota Alphard and GAC GN8?
