2023 Mitsubishi Xpander Cross arrives in PH with Php 1.328M starting price
Last year, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC), introduced the heavily revised version of its very popular Xpander 7-seater compact MPV. As a follow up to that, they are now introducing its more rugged version, the Xpander Cross.
Revealed by Mitsubishi Motors Indonesia last August at the 29th Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), the updated 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander Cross receives a similar facelift treatment as the model it’s based on, and receives new technology features as well.
First, taking a look at the exterior, the refreshed Xpander Cross gets the latest iteration of Mitsubishi’s dynamic shield front fascia with a slightly more rugged appearance unique to this model. It also gets a new and beefier front bumper, T-shaped LED headlights, new rectangular fog lights, and new LED taillights. Other exterior stuff setting this apart from the standard Xpander are the new 17-inch alloy wheels, fender flares and plastic body cladding, roof rails. Like the standard Xpander though, ground clearance is still at 225 mm.
There are two types of available exterior color options—monotone and two-tone. The monotone options are Blade Silver Metallic or Graphite Gray Metallic. The two-tone options on the other hand are Quartz White Pearl or Sunrise Orange Metallic, paired with a black roof.
Inside, the 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander Cross gets the same new interior of the regular Xpander. What sets it apart though is the steering wheel and 8-inch digital instrument cluster which are similar to those in the Montero Sport. It also gets a two-tone black and blue interior color scheme with leather seats, as opposed to the black and brown on the standard Xpander. For infotainment, it gets a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and additional USB-A and USB-C charging ports like in the regular Xpander.
Under the hood, the 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander Cross keeps the pre-refresh version’s powertrain, a 1.5-liter 4A91 Inline 4-cylinder MIVEC petrol engine that produces 105 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque. For the local market, it still remains paired to a 4-speed automatic transmission.
In terms of safety, the updated Xpander Cross receives new Active Yaw Control (AYC) which allows for better cornering. This is on top of other standard safety equipment such as anti-lock brakes (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) and brake assist (BA), dual front airbags, hill start assist (HSA), and active stability control (ASC).
The 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander Cross is now available at all Mitsubishi Motors dealerships nationwide with the monotone variant priced at Php 1,328,000 and the two-tone at Php 1,338,000 (+Php 15,000 for Quartz White Pearl). Buyers will also be able to take advantage of a 3-year or 100,000 km vehicle warranty.
So, what do you think of the refreshed Mitsubishi Xpander Cross?
