Dongfeng Motors PH expands vehicle lineup with five new models
Dongfeng Motors Philippines has unveiled five new models with its “Drive Your Friend” Campaign. These new cars are a mix of fully electric, hybrid, and internal combustion engine vehicles that are set to take on their respective segments. These new models add to the brand’s existing portfolio which include the Nanobox, Aeolus Huge, and the Forthing Friday.
First among the new cars is the new Dongfeng Nammi which is the brand’s compact electric vehicle. It slots above the Nanobox in terms of pricing and features. The new electric vehicle (EV) has an estimated range of 430 kilometers and comes with 30-minute fast charging capabilities. As for its pricing, the small EV comes with a price tag of Php 1,238,000. Like the rest of the five new vehicles, full specifications aren’t available yet, but Dongfeng has included some highlighted features for the new models.
Next up is the brand’s second crossover entry to the market with the Aeolus Mage, like its Aelous Huge counterpart, it comes with the brand’s latest technology and blends a sporty appearance with a spacious interior. It also has a large 13.2-inch Super HD touchscreen display and is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. The new crossover is priced at Php 1,248,000.
Dongfeng has also entered the pickup truck segment with its new Rich 7. It takes on a familiar look, thanks to similar styling to the Nissan Navara which it is based on, but is powered by a 2.3-liter twin-turbo diesel engine. However, unlike its twin, the Rich 7 has front and rear differential locks, an off-road protection frame, and off-road info displays along with a 540-degree camera. The brand’s newest pickup truck can be had with a starting price of Php 1,738,000.
The automaker has also entered the MPV segment with the Dongfeng U-Tour MPV. It boasts a premium interior and has a powerful turbocharged 1.5-liter gasoline engine which the automaker says pushes out 197 horsepower and 285 Nm of torque. Pricing for the new MPV starts at Php 1,558,000.
Finally, Dongfeng has also entered the fully electric SUV segment with the arrival of the M Hero. It comes with the brand’s smart off-road architecture, intelligent cockpit design, and boasts a 500 kilometer driving range on a single charge. But that’s not all as it reportedly makes 1000 horsepower and comes with rear-wheel steering. Pricing for the new fully electric off-roader starts at Php 6,980,000.
Aside from the new models, Dongfeng also welcomed a new managing director, Atty. Albert Arcilla, formerly from Chevrolet and MG, to bolster its growing team.
“Dongfeng Philippines is offering the widest variety of propulsion choices to Filipino customers who may or may not be ready for that radical switch to electric just yet. This enabled us at Team Dongfeng Philippines to choose the most suitable body-powertrain combinations for our local conditions and market preferences, resulting in one of the widest segment coverages of any new brand in the Philippines,” he said.
