Despite the havoc wreaked by a typhoon on its opening day, with floods causing guests, media, and employees of the different participating brands and businesses, the 9th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) soldiered-on unhampered.

Held last October 24-27 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila in Pasay City, and organized by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI), a record-breaking approximate of 42,000 visitors came to the four-day motor show.

With the theme of “Dare. Drive. The Future Redefined,” this year’s PIMS brought together 17 automotive brands which showcased their latest and future models. Among these were noteworthy introductions such as the global unveiling of the Mitsubishi DST Concept, local launch of the Nissan Z Nismo, and the much-awaited introduction of the Honda Civic e:HEV.

The motor show also had a special guest of honor at its opening ceremony–Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime J. Bautista, who addressed the transformative role of the automotive industry in sustainable transport solutions. According to CAMPI, “his presence underscored the alignment between PIMS and the government’s initiatives to promote innovation in transportation and mobility.”

CAMPI is also donating Php 500,000 to the Angat Buhay Foundation, extending aid to victims of Typhoon Kristine. “We believe in giving back to our community, especially during challenging times,” shared CAMPI President Atty. Rommel Gutierrez. “Through this donation, we hope to provide a helping hand to those impacted by Typhoon Kristine and to continue building a responsible and resilient community.”

We’re definitely looking forward to what’s in-store for the 10th Philippine International Motor Show.
