MIAS 2025 | The BAIC B60e Beaumont rEV can drive up to 1,200km on a single charge and tank

BAIC Philippines, under the distributorship of United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI), is taking its electrification push a step further with the introduction of its first range-extended vehicle at the 20th Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).

Say hello to the BAIC B60e Beaumont rEV. Essentially an updated version of the brand’s largest B60 Beaumont ladder-frame SUV, this takes things to the next level with refreshed looks, additional tech features, and, of course, the new powertrain.

With the powertrain as the main highlight of this update, let’s start there.

The BAIC B60e Beaumont rEV gets a new 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine that acts as a generator and charger for its dual electric motors and battery. Combined power and torque figures are at 547 horsepower and 655 Nm.

With a fuel tank capacity of 82L, BAIC says that it can drive on a single full charge and full tank of gas for up to 1,200km. It also has three energy drive modes: Fuel Priority, EV, and Automatic. That’s on top of other standard drive modes, which are Eco, Comfort, Sport, Snow, Crossing, Mud, Sand, Rock, Wading, and Extreme Speed Mode.

In terms of looks, it’s set apart from its mild-hybrid sibling by its more streamlined look, wearing similar cues as modes such as the B30e Dune and B40 Trail Master. It now comes with the brand’s Five-Port Light Ring around the front grille, along with redesigned bumpers, new taillight clusters, and larger 20-inch six-spoke alloy wheels.

The interior is similar to the regular B60 Beaumont but gets more tech. It still gets a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, now with the addition of a new 12.8-inch entertainment screen for the front passenger.

The BAIC B60e Beaumont rEV is equipped with the BAIC Big Assist+ ADAS suite as standard. This gives it with adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, intelligent high beam control, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, lane change assist, emergency lane keep assist, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, front and rear emergency braking, rear cross traffic warning, door opening warning, and Smart Dodge.

The new BAIC B60e Beaumont rEV is priced at Php 3,398,000 or Php 400,000 more than the mild-hybrid. What do you think?
