BYD’s Denza premium arm will officially be entering PH soon

Another Chinese manufacturer is making its way into the country, but this one is a bit more special as it is Denza, the premium arm of the mega automaker BYD. We got to take a look at what the brand has to offer last year when we visited BYD’s main headquarters in China.

More importantly, BYD Philippines, the official subsidiary of the BYD Group in China, is set to handle distribution instead of ACMobility, which currently distributes the mainstream BYD lineup.

With BYD essentially covering the mass market, Denza will position itself as the luxury arm of the brand, similar to what Toyota and Lexus do in the Philippines. The brand’s official launch and unveiling of its initial offerings will take place within the first quarter of 2026, and it is set to have several authorized dealerships in the coming months.

But from what we can see with a teaser photo shared, several of its vehicles are already in a stockyard. Front and center is the D9 MPV, with two SUVs in the background— these are the FangChengBao Bao 5 (the blue one), and the FangChengBao Bao 8, which will most likely be sold as the Denza B5 and Denza B8 in our country.

Denza’s offerings utilize higher-end systems and powertrains from BYD’s tech pool, such as the DiSus suspension technology that improves ride comfort without compromising on handling, and the vehicles will utilize the e3 platform, available with an array of different powertrains. These three vehicles are plug-in hybrids, which will most likely utilize similar tech to that found in BYD’s DM-i and DM-O’s vehicles.

They also come with luxurious features not seen in the lower-end models, such as full Nappa leather interiors, sound systems by brands like Devialet, ventilated and massaging seats for the first and second row, and even heater and cooler compartments for food and beverages.

The future of premium mobility isn’t defined by excess—it’s defined by intelligence. Nowadays, it is technology that truly drives elegance. And at Denza, we see new energy vehicles as an opportunity to rethink how power, comfort, and sustainability can work together in a more thoughtful, human way,” said Adam Hu, BYD and Denza Philippines Country Head.

With the introduction of premium brands like Deepal, Denza, and Li Auto, do you think it’s time to give Chinese brands a second look?
