Toyota celebrates 60 years of the Corolla with special 60th Anniversary editions for Japan

Did you know the humble Toyota Corolla is 60 years old? Spanning 12 whole generations and more than 57 million units sold around the world, the humble sedan’s current generation is already on its way out, as we saw at the Japan Mobility Show 2025 in Tokyo last November.

But despite this new Corolla on the horizon, Toyota is celebrating the occasion in Japan with a special 60th Anniversary Edition for the 12th-generation Corolla and Corolla Touring. In a few months, the Corolla Sport (hatchback) and Corolla Cross will get their respective 60th Anniversary Editions.

These special editions get exclusive goodies such as a 60th anniversary logos on the front fenders, and the same logo on the leather-wrapped dashboard. There is also a specially tuned suspension for 2WD models, and it comes with black 17-inch aluminum wheels.

These two come in the Active Sport trim, gets a special front bumper and rocker panels, and the front sport seats are finished in gray and black. The same can be said for the Touring, but the bumper and rocker panels are finished in Neutral Black, and the front sport seats are finished in black and dark gray. It also comes in Neutral Black x Ash body color.

These still come with the same 1.8-liter, 2ZR-FXE gasoline engine mated to the Toyota Hybrid System, and choices of either front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive with the E-Four system, so it’s the same reliable system you’ve come to know and love.
