CONFIRMED: Geely Monjaro EM-i launches in PH this October 2026
Geely Motor Philippines (GMP) has been working quite hard to regain lost ground, and one way it’s doing that is with new model introductions that fit well with what the market wants, such as the Geely EX5 EM-i plug-in hybrid and the small Geely EX2 fully electric hatchback.
The former is proving to be quite popular, selling over 1,500 units since its launch in March 2026. With that, GMP is bringing more plug-in hybrid options, and we already know that it’s going to be with the Monjaro EM-i which the company has just confirmed will be launching this coming October 2026.
The midsize crossover was initially confirmed to us by GMP executives during a media trip in 2025, and then eventually teased on the brand’s social media pages in August. With the announcement of its launch month, there is also a handful of official information about it.
For starters, the Monjaro EM-i will be positioned as GMP’s flagship model, and will also be their first offering in the Philippines to come with their e-AWD Intelligent Electric All-Wheel Drive System. Just like the EX5 lineup, it will also come with the brand’s Flyme Auto intelligent infotainment system.
Other information, such as final specifications, features, and pricing, will be announced closer to the launch. Available public information does tell us a couple of things such as its powertrain which is likely to be a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine and dual electric motors, producing a combined output of 416 horsepower and 723Nm of torque, paired to a 29.8kWh LFP battery that should provide up to 116km of pure electric range or up to 906km on a single full tank and full charge.
Once launched, the Geely Monjaro EM-i will most likely compete with the likes BYD Tang DM-i and MG RX9. And with the popularity of the Geely EX5 EM-i, do you think this has what it takes to perform well in terms of sales, especially with continuous high demand for midsize SUVs in our market?
