AC Motors sales grows 30%, network at 95 dealers in 2021
AC Motors, one of the largest automotive groups in the Philippines and a subsidiary of the Ayala Corporation, one of the largest companies in the country, ended the previous year very bright and competitive.
The company, distributor of Volkswagen, Kia, and Maxus vehicles in the country, as well as a dealer of Honda and Isuzu vehicles, shared its 2021 results with the media during a recent virtual party, a few days ago.
First, AC Motors was able to introduce a handful of new models under its automotive brands and dealers. These are the new Maxus D60 and D90, updated Volkswagen Santana and new T-Cross and Multivan, Kia Sorento, Isuzu D-MAX and mu-X, new Honda Civic, City, and City Hatchback.
Like all of us, the company also focused on its digital network, allowing customers to experience its sales and aftersales services without having to set foot inside a dealership. As much as 40% of their monthly sales can be traced back to their digital channels.
Also, the AC Motors network of car dealerships have also grown. From 85 in 2020, they’ve added 10 more new car dealerships to their network before 2021 ended. Sales have also grown by 30%, outpacing the local automotive industry’s average of 18%.
With a bright 2021, things are getting exciting for 2022 as well. The company is starting its year with the introduction of the all-new Kia Carnival, set to be launched on February 17 this year. It is also strengthening its presence in the truck market which is recovering faster from the pandemic. Further expansion of network and digitization will likewise continue.
AC Motors is also poised to become a key player in sustainable mobility, as the Ayala group has committed to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
To help achieve this goal, AC Motors will actively explore bringing in electric vehicles to the domestic market. “The EV law and its corresponding roadmap is about to be finalized. Government must consider lowering import duties aside from excise tax privileges. Let us protect strategic sectors such as the PUV but allow easier importation of private vehicles. We need to make EV ownership more accessible,” Mr. Antonio “Toti” Zara III, President of AC Motors urged.
