Acura is reviving the RSX… as an electric crossover

It’s the old trope of brands digging up revered nameplates from past cars to bank on nostalgia once again. We’ve seen cars like the Mitsubishi Eclipse get turned from a sporty grand tourer to a ho-hum crossover, and on the other hand, brands like Honda/Acura revived the Integra to be a Civic-based sedan (just like it was before).

This time around, Acura is digging up the RSX nameplate and turning it into…an electric crossover.

If you’re a Honda fanboy or just know cars in general, the RSX is what they called the fourth-generation Integra (DC5) in the United States market as a sporty coupe with the legendary 2.0-liter naturally aspirated K20 engine.

This time around, the RSX EV will be a “dynamically styled SUV” that is based on the Acura Performance EV Concept. More notably, this will be the first-ever in-house EV by the brand; the ZDX EV was co-developed with General Motors using the Ultium architecture.

The RSX is based on the Honda Zero platform and uses the ASIMO OS that was introduced back in CES 2025. It will be made in the Honda EV Hub plant in Ohio, the same as the Acura Integra.

Granted, the prototype will debut during the Monterey Car Week (which is happening this week), with the full production model to be released sometime in 2026.
