Adrian Newey will become the new Team Principal of the Aston Martin F1 Team

It has been a year since F1 aerodynamic extraordinaire Adrian Newey resigned from Red Bull Racing to take up his new tenure with the Aston Martin Formula 1 Team. He joined the team back in March to work his magic on the cars in time for the 2026 regulations.

We can only assume that Newey is done with the majority of his work, as Aston Martin has announced a shock leadership structure change, as Newey will now be taking on an even more important role within the team, as he is now the new Team Principal.

The current Team Principal and CEO, Andy Cowell, will now be taking the role of the Chief Strategy Officer, who will be in charge of managing the technical partnership between the team, engine supplier Honda, fuel supplier Aramco, and lubricant partner Vavoline.

As for Newey, he will be guiding the technical team from a higher position, including trackside operations of the car. This will be his chance to shine as a leader with the people and technical knowledge that he has garnered over his multiple years in racing.
