Andika Rama is the champion for the Toyota Gazoo Racing Asia eSports GT Championship 2025

This year’s Toyota Gazoo Racing Asia eSports GT Championship finals were held last week at the Toyota Alive Space in Bangkok, Thailand, where 15 contenders from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand battled it out across three races within Gran Turismo 7.

To summarize, Indonesia’s Andika Rama won the championship with 74 points, followed by fellow countryman and teammate Moreno Pratama with 62 points, with Malaysia’s Chong Kai Chang clinching the final spot with 59 points.
This is actually Rama’s second title in the series, which he won back then in 2023 when the series was still called the Toyota GR GT Cup Asia, with him and Luis Moreno having represented Southeast Asia in the Global Finals.

This also meant that Indonesia won the Country Championship, with 169 points from its three drivers, Andika Rama, Farizi Pramaditaya, and Moreno Pratama. Malaysia was in second with 151 points, and Singapore with 93 points for third place.
The first race saw the Suzuka Circuit and the GR Yaris, where the element of rain spiced up the opening number, where drivers had to not only manage the changing conditions and follow the right racing lines to find opportunities to overtake, but also manage tire compounds and time their pit stops properly. Andika Rama took first, followed by Moreno Pratama and Chong Kai Chang, respectively.

The second leg was held at Interlagos, which also introduced the first-ever team race format was introduced. With a day-to-night cycle, there was an element of endurance racing as all three drivers per team had to perform two required driver swaps at any time of the race. Of course, the GR010 Hybrid Hypercar was used. Here, Malaysia won the team race, followed by Indonesia, and Singapore came in third.

The final race was held in Watkins Glen with the GR Supra Race Car ‘19. A simple showdown with no gimmicks, with the entire field staying close in the early stages, all the drivers separated by less than a second from each other. Here, we saw a repeat of the first race’s podium, with Andika Rama coming in first, Moreno Pratama in second, and Chong Kai Chang in third.
Rama also took home the Driver of the Day award, with Chang taking the Best Racecraft, and Singapore’s Fadtris Isa awarded the Fastest Race Pace Award.

As for our compatriots, Enzo Ison was the country’s highest finisher at 8th, followed by Matthew Ang in 13th, and Victor Ancheta in 14th. This also meant that Team Philippines finished in 4th place in the Country Championship. It was a valiant effort by our three racers, and as they always say in video games, GG, and there’s always a next time for them to hopefully tackle the challenge with better results once again.
