Are these photos of the updated Geely Coolray and Azkarra?

The Geely Coolray, or even the Geely brand as a whole, experienced some pretty good reception ever since they were first reintroduced in the country in 2019.

While the brand is fairly recent when it comes to our market, most of its models aren’t. The Coolray was first revealed in 2015, the Azkarra in 2016 (but facelifted in 2019). The Okavango was revealed only last year.

It seems that the first two will be getting an update soon as photos of what appear to be the Coolray and Azkarra are circulating on the internet, according to a report by WapCar Malaysia.

First is the Geely Coolray, known as the Binyue in its home market, which appears to get a more angular front fascia with a redesigned bumper and blacked out accent covering parts of the bumper and just below the headlights. It also loses Geely’s signature ‘Expanding Cosmos’ front grille which is replaced by a honeycomb pattern, still with a red accent.

A photo of the rear shows that the tailgate finisher on top of the license plate will now be in black. Body colored trim in the new rear diffuser can also be seen. 

As for the Azkarra, known as the Boyue Pro, it will get its second facelift with a more major redesign compared to its smaller sibling. While the headlights remain the same, everything else in front is new. It also loses the brand’s signature front grille design, replaced by a larger front grille which appears to have more of a cobweb design mixed with some elements which weirdly make it look like it’s wearing Mitsubishi Motors’ Dynamic Shield Design. The bumper is also redesigned with a sportier and more angular appearance. 

At the rear, the updated Azkarra should get a new diffuser with different color options, and the tailgate finisher also painted in black. Other possible changes are a blacked-out roof and clear taillights. 

Do note that these are just leaked photos and the end-product may look very well different from what we are seeing now. It is also unknown for now when the facelifted Geely Coolray and Azkarra will be revealed officially and made available in our market.
