Auto Shanghai 2025 | Omoda & Jaecoo show off the electrified C5 SHS, C7 SHS, and Jaecoo 5 EV

At the 2025 Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, Omoda and Jaecoo took to the stage to show off three new vehicles to launch later this year, the Omoda C5 SHS, the Omoda C7 SHS, and the Jaecoo J5 EV.
Details on these three cars are still scarce, but we know that these two Omoda models are hybrid electric crossovers that utilize the Super Hybrid System (SHS) that was first seen in the Jaecoo J7 SHS, mating a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, a dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT), an electric motor, and high-performance batteries.
The total power output is 340 horsepower and 525 Nm of torque (based on the J7 SHS). At least for the C7, it can drive on pure electric power of up to 90km on a single charge, but that range grows to 1,258km when used as a hybrid.
The Omoda C7 measures 4,660mm long, 1,875mm wide, and 1,670mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,720mm, making it one of Omoda’s larger compact crossovers in its lineup, and it features a bold design that features lots of geometric elements and sharp lines.

As for the C5, specifications are still not available, but it features a dramatic design that looks completely different from the previous model, with an extended hood line, sleek split headlights, and lightning-bolt style-esque taillights, to name a few.

Meanwhile, the Jaecoo J5 EV looks quite similar to its J7 SHS sibling, but everything has been smoothed out in the pursuit of aerodynamics since this is a pure electric vehicle.
It has a single electric motor with 211 horsepower and 288 Nm of torque, capable of a 0-100km/h sprint in 7.7 seconds, with a 60.9kWh battery pack capable of driving up to 470km on a single charge.
Expect more details to be revealed as these vehicles are officially launched, but there’s one thing for certain: these three will be launched in the Philippines as part of Omoda & Jaecoo’s growing portfolio.
