Auto Shanghai 2025: The Mazda EZ-60 makes its full debut

After a teaser shown off last week, Mazda has revealed the full details of the Mazda EZ-60 (or CX-6e in global markets) at Auto Shanghai 2025.
The design remains extremely faithful to the Arata concept shown off at Auto China 2024 (Beijing) with dramatic lines and aerodynamic touches such as spoilers and buttresses, the option for 19 or 21-inch wheels. It measures 4,850mm long, 1,935mm wide, and 1,602mm tall with a spacious 2,902mm wheelbase.

The interior looks completely different from other Mazdas, even though the EZ-6/6e’s interior shares similar materials with the CX-60/90.

The interior sports a two-tone white-and-purple finish, with the absence of physical controls in favor of a 26.45-inch ultra-wide display (which is just two 13.2-inch screens put together) for the main infotainment and passenger’s side display. The model on display here also has digital mirrors (side and rearview), with the driver getting a large heads-up display.

Other amenities include climate controlled seats that are fully power-adjustable with even an ottoman for the driver, a glass roof, fast wireless charging, and a 23-speaker 7.1.4-channel sound system that supports Dolby Atmos, alongside a rear touchscreen that will allow passengers to control functions.

The EZ-60, being based on the Deepal S07, comes in two powertrain offerings, a full EV with a single, rear-mounted motor and battery capable of up to 600km of range.
The other is a range extender, mating a 1.5-liter engine to an electric motor capable of up to 254 horsepower, allowing either up to 160km of pure electric driving or up more than 1,000km from its 31.7kWh LFP battery. This one also has a 50:50 front-rear weight distribution, making it fun to drive.

Do you think this formula for a Chinese-made, fully electric crossover would work in the global market, or would you rather wait for a proper, ground-up EV from Mazda themselves?
