BIMS 2025 | We see the refreshed Mazda BT-50 in the metal

Last year, we saw the reveal of the first mid-cycle refresh of the current generation Mazda BT-50, following the footsteps of the Isuzu D-MAX which it is based on.
Launched in Thailand in November 2024, we finally got to see the refreshed version in the metal at the 46th Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS) and we can’t help but feel excited for its arrival on Philippine soil.

Most of the changes to Mazda’s pickup truck can be found on the outside. The front fascia wears an updated version of the Kodo design language, taking cues from the Mazda CX-5 compact crossover. It features new headlights with L-shaped DRLs, a larger front grille with a more rugged pattern and large Mazda emblem, and a sleeker front bumper.

The sides and rear also get a few changes such as more pronounced fender flares, a standard sports bar with the BT-50 name engraved, new taillight clusters with an L-shaped signature, and a larger Mazda emblem and ridged pattern on the tailgate. It also rides on a new set of blacked-out 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, changes are very minimal. Most obvious are the new two-tone black and terracotta Maztex synthetic suede and black leather upholstery for the seats. Other changes are a new seven-inch digital instrument cluster, USB Type-C ports, and an updated interface for the nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Under the hood, the updated Mazda BT-50 still gets the same Isuzu-sourced 3.0-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel engine (4JJ3-TCX) that makes 190 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Also available is a new 2.2-liter turbodiesel (RZ4F-TC). It produces 163 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque, mated to a new eight-speed automatic transmission.

We know that it’s only a matter of time until the new Mazda BT-50 is launched in the Philippines. Do you want to see it as the Thai version?
