Fully-electric BMW iX3 launches in PH for a very compelling Php 4.590M

We’re slowly but surely getting more and more new full electric vehicle choices in the Philippine market. This time, BMW Philippines, under the distributorship of SMC Asia Cars Distributors Corporation, introduces its second full EV on the market, the BMW iX3. It is the fully electric version of the BMW X3 compact crossover, one of the German luxury automaker’s most popular models since its introduction in the country.

Powering it is the brand’s fifth generation eDrive single electric motor that moves the vehicle through the rear wheels with 286 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. BMW says that it can go from 0 to 100 kph in 6.8 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 180 kph while driving range is at 460 km.

For charging, it can be done via 150 kW DC fast chargers which allows it to go from 10% to 80% in just around 30 minutes. Using the 7.4 kW home charger that every purchase of the vehicle comes with would make it go from empty to a full charge in around 10 hours. The BMW iX3 is also compatible with Type 2 chargers which is what can mostly be found in local charging stations.

In terms of looks, the locally available BMW iX3 is known as the “Inspiring” line matched with the M Sport package which is standard. While it looks like a normal BMW X3 for the most part, there are a couple minor differences that show that it is an EV such as the enclosed kidney grill and blue accents all over the vehicle. Since this is an M Sport, it comes with the M Aerodynamic Package, M high-gloss shadow line, M roof rails, 19-inch two-tone alloy wheels, and adaptive LED headlights.

The interior is also your usual BMW X3 but with the addition of blue accents. Immediately noticeable on this M Sport are its M leather-wrapped steering wheel, Sensatec perforated leather seats, and fine ash wood trunk trim. Also seen are ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and dual 12.3-inch screens—one for the instrument cluster and one for the iDrive 7 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Now you’d think that this would be very pricey as it is a fully-electric German luxury crossover. Well not exactly as the 2023 BMW iX3 is one of the first vehicles in the market to benefit from Executive Order No. 12 that aims to reduce or eliminate taxes on importation of EVs and spare parts. This allows the BMW iX3 to sell for a very competitive Php 4,590,000, putting it right in the middle of the local X3 lineup. Buyers will also be able to take advantage of a 5-year factory warranty, 8-year high voltage battery warranty, and a 6-year inclusive BMW Service warranty.

The 2023 BMW iX3 is now available at authorized BMW i dealerships RSA Motors Libis and RSA Motors Greenhills.
