BYD Cars PH and DOT partner for “Drive Electric. Love Pinas.” campaign

The Department of Tourism (DOT) may be a bit controversial right now thanks to its equally controversial secretary, but that’s not stopping automotive brands from partnering with them.

A few years ago, Nissan Philippines launched its Drive Pinas campaign which is still ongoing today, and now BYD Cars Philippines is launching its own “Drive Electric. Love Pinas.” campaign, also in partnership with the DOT.

The contract for this partnership was recently signed at the BYD Manila Bay dealership by representatives from ACMobility, the current distributor of BYD in the country, and representatives of the DOT. This strategic partnership aims to promote sustainable land travel across the Philippines through a nationwide drive from using BYD vehicles, and supported by ACMobility’s charging infrastructure around the country.

The initiative will be able to make full use of ACMobility’s Philippine EV Spine, its nationwide network of electric vehicle charging stations that is aimed at making seamless long-distance electric travel from Pagudpud to General Santos City possible. With this, there are also plans to integrate EV infrastructure with DOT Tourist Rest Areas.

This partnership between ACMobility, BYD, and the Department of Tourism is a defining moment for sustainable travel in our country. Together, we are leading the charge to reshape the way Filipinos travel and experience the Philippines. By breaking the old mold of mobility we are able to fuel tourism with zero emissions,” says ACMobility CEO Jaime Alfonso Zobel De Ayala.

The campaign is set to kick off within this first quarter of 2026, led by Filipino-American Travel Vlogger Wil Dasovich who will be serving as the lead navigator. Dasovich will embark on a road trip across the Philippines, showcasing different local cultures and landmarks.
