Yes, you read that right. One of ACMobility’s breakthroughs of 2024 comes from BYD Cars Philippines

The results are pretty obvious when you see all its different electric and hybrid offerings trawling the streets whenever you go outside.

For 2024, the Chinese automaker sold 4,780 vehicles, making up a massive 82% of the electrified vehicle (hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and electric) market in the Philippines. This is a gigantic 8,900% growth compared to its sales last 2023, cementing it as the 11th best-selling automotive brand in the country.

The brand’s top-selling model? That honor goes to the Sealion 6 DM-i, selling 2,669 units ever since its introduction in July 2024. It makes up a 14.6% share of the overall compact SUV segment for 2024.

The Atto 3’s affordable price and form factor made it a big hit in the market.

This is followed by the Atto 3, moving 1,062 units in 2024– also taking its place as the country’s best-selling battery electric vehicle with a 35% market share in its segment.

This is followed by the Seagull, which sold 411 units in 2024. This might seem small compared to the others, but when you realize it was introduced in September last year, it’s a surprising number for that short period of time, making up 14% of the battery-electric vehicles sold last year.

Is there a model that you’re looking forward to seeing soon?

Expect BYD Cars Philippines to grow more this year, especially with the recent introduction of the Seal 5 DM-i and the soon-to-be-announced Shark pickup truck.
