BYD Tang DM-i spotted in PH ahead of local launch

While we’re still waiting for the upcoming launch of the BYD Sealion 5 DM-i, BYD Cars Philippines has no plans of taking a break. The Chinese automaker, distributed locally by ACMobility, seems to have begun teasing the Tang DM-i, though not digitally.
It seems that the company has planted one unit of the seven-seater plug-in hybrid in a public parking lot in Bonifacio Global City which we were able to spot during a walk, for everyone to see and wonder.

The unit in question is completely wrapped in camouflage and has no visible badging. Dead giveaways that this is in fact the Tang DM-i are the larger front grille which isn’t present in the fully electric version which is already being sold locally, the different alloy wheel design, and the redesigned taillight clusters.
We were also able to take a slight peek at the interior which had a two-tone beige and black color scheme, a large touchscreen infotainment system (probably 15.6-inches in size), and a digital instrument cluster.

As for other details, you can check out this link which has some information which we were able to get from documents posted by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) on their website.
For now, we can only guess as there is no official social media teaser campaign yet, nor any official announcements from BYD Cars Philippines. What we’re sure of is that DM-i is going premium.
