CAMPI-TMA reports 491,395 vehicles sold in PH from 2025, sees large growth for electrified vehicles

The numbers are in, and the growth continues for the Philippine automotive industry. The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) have announced the total number of vehicles sold in the country for 2025.

Based on reports from member brands, as well as other available industry data, a total of 491,395 vehicles have been sold in the Philippines last year. This is a modest increase of 3.7% compared to 2024’s 473,842 vehicles sold.

The CAMPI attributes this modest increase in sales, year-on-year, to the overall unfavorable market environment during the second half of 2025, no thanks to a number of factors such as the reimposition of excise tax on pickup trucks and several natural calamities experienced across the country.

The month of December did, however, show some recovery, with a total of 47,371 units sold, also marking the strongest monthly performance since 2017.

Among those numbers, vehicle sales from CAMPI and TMA members total at 463,646 units. The top two brands remain the same as before–with Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) on top, selling 229,447 units for a 49.49% market share. They are followed by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) at second, with 86,808 units sold, for an 18.72% market share.

Closely fighting with each other are Suzuki Philippines, Inc. at third, selling 21,984 units; Ford Philippines at fourth with 21,784 units sold; and Nissan Philippines, Inc. (NPI) ranking fifth with 20,571 units sold.

CAMPI-TMA also says that electrified vehicles (HEV, PHEV, BEV) from its members made a significant impact with 58,905 units sold, accounting for 12% of the market, compared to only 5.5% in the previous year. This equates to a 142.5% growth versus 2024 and highlights the market’s shift into electrified mobility.

Other sub-segments such as 1Ton+ Multi-Purpose Vehicles, also positively contributed to the industry’s 2025 performance, with a 76.6% increase compared to 2024. Models in this category include the likes of the Toyota Tamaraw, Mitsubishi L300 FB, and Isuzu Traviz, among others.

We attribute last year’s achievement to the aggressive promotional campaigns and the new product introductions from the various car brands which expanded consumer options especially in electrified and commercial vehicle segments,” said Jose Maria Atienza, president of CAMPI.
