Chery Auto PH sales grow 140% in June 2022

Chery Auto Philippines continues to ride on the success it has built in the country over the past few years as the company achieves another sales record.

The brand, under the distributorship of United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI), reported a record sales increase of 140% in June this year versus the previous month. That month also saw the highest monthly sales figure achieved by the company ever since the Chery brand was relaunched in the country in late 2019.

We are thrilled by the continuous growth and popularity of the Chery brand in the challenging business climate. It’s a testament to the consumers’ awareness and acceptance of the solid value for money proposition that our Chery vehicles offer,” said Chery Auto Philippines and UAAGI President Erroll Dueñas.

Chery Auto Philippines attributes its sales success to better brand awareness brought about by marketing initiatives such as drive events for members of the media in April and May, as well as the launch of an official club for Chery Tiggo owners. In addition, they are also citing the good market reception towards their latest flagship model, the Tiggo 8 Pro midsize 7-seater crossover SUV.

It’s not common that a flagship model becomes the bestseller for an automotive brand, but such was the compelling attraction of the tech-heavy and feature-laden Tiggo 8 Pro, which is available with a class-leading 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline direct-injection engine or as a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle—they offer all the space, comfort, technology, luxury, and safety equipment of the prestigious German SUVs, but at a much more attainable price point,” declared Dueñas.

In fact, the brand’s lineup of “Pro” models each exceeded their initial sales targets by 233% for the Tiggo 8 Pro, 140% for the Tiggo 2 Pro, and 109% for the Tiggo 7 Pro.

The strong demand for Chery vehicles is spurring us to work even harder in getting the brand’s value for money message across and getting more people behind the wheel of a Chery vehicle; we are only just seeing a fraction of the full potential of the brand,” added Dueñas.
