Chery Tiggo 7 Pro now gets Android Auto
Phone connectivity through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is one of the most important and sought-after features in brand new vehicles today. Some buyers would even forego purchasing particular models due to the lack of them. Chery Auto Philippines also saw the importance of this and has fitted its entire lineup with Apple CarPlay. But what about Android Auto?
Previously having to make do with connecting to their vehicles through bluetooth, Android-user Chery Tiggo 7 Pro owners can now connect their Android smartphones to their vehicle’s infotainment system with Android Auto.
Due to current owners’ demand and continuous tech development, Chery Auto Philippines has announced the availability of the popular Android Auto smartphone mirroring feature for its Tiggo 7 PRO model.
“We are always on the lookout when it comes to adapting technologies that make driving more enjoyable for everyone,” said newly appointed UAAGI President Erroll Duenas. “Equipping our bestselling Chery Tiggo 7 Pro with Android Auto is something our customers will surely appreciate,” he added.
Android Auto is a smartphone mirroring service that allows drivers to focus on the road with quality-of-life features such as GPS navigation, music playback, and managing texts and calls, all through the vehicle’s infotainment display.
The goal of Android Auto is to minimize driving distractions by making it easy for drivers to control various infotainment and connectivity features by essentially having their phone’s screen mirrored on an expansive dash-mounted touchscreen display within the driving sightlines of the driver, hence removing the temptation for the driver to look at his or her phone screen for calls, messages, or navigation.
To activate this feature, current Tiggo 7 Pro owners need to set an appointment with their Chery dealership or book an appointment via the Chery Auto PH App. The activation will be done by the dealership’s aftersales staff for free. Android Auto will also be available for other Tiggo models like the Tiggo 2, Tiggo 5x and Tiggo 8, all of which currently use QD Link for Android connectivity. The company is set to announce the date of Android Auto availability for those models soon.
“We’re confident that this much-anticipated infotainment upgrade will make the CHERY Tiggo 7 Pro even more appealing to its target market,” Duenas added.
