The PH-spec Chery Tiggo Cross now has a 204 horsepower hybrid system

Yup, you read that title right. The Chery Tiggo Cross, one of the brand’s subcompact crossover offerings in our market, can now be had with a hybrid powertrain under the hood.
Formerly known as the Tiggo 5X and Tiggo 5X Pro, the latest Tiggo Cross was launched in our market at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) last April with a naturally-aspirated powertrain. And just last month, documents from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) hinted at the arrival of this model.
And now that it’s here, it looks like Chery Auto Philippines, under the distributorship of the United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI), has a lot to offer.
Powering the Chery Tiggo Cross Hybrid is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that runs on the Atkinson Cycle, paired to an electric motor and 1.83kWh LFP battery. It produces a combined output of 204 horsepower and 310Nm of torque, mated to a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT).
These are respectable numbers for a small crossover, and pretty much double the output figures of the non-hybrid CVT variant (114 horsepower and 141Nm).

On top of its Chery Super Hybrid powertrain, the Tiggo Cross also gets some additional features when compared to the non-hybrid variant. This includes new 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels, a sunroof, dual-zone climate control, six-way power-adjustable driver seat, an auto up & down driver’s window, 540-degree camera, a wireless phone charger, and wireless connectivity for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The overall design and features remain the same, including its “Diamond Accent” front grille, LED headlights and taillights, leather seats, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, six-speaker audio system, and advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS), among others.

And in case you think that Chery Auto Philippines must have priced this quite high, you’re wrong as the Chery Tiggo Cross Hybrid is priced at Php 1,198,000 or Php 200,000 more than the non-hybrid version, and making it one of the more affordable hybrid crossovers in our market.
Buyers will also be able to take advantage of an eight-year or 160,000km battery warranty and a five-year or 150,000km vehicle warranty, whichever comes first.
