Chery Tiggo Cross is the new Tiggo 5X Pro, launching at MIAS 2025

At last year’s Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), Chery Auto Philippines previewed the heavily-refreshed version of its Tiggo 5X Pro subcompact crossover. The wait need not be longer as it is confirmed to arrive in our market very soon, and with a new name.
Launching at the upcoming 20th Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) is the new Tiggo Cross. Essentially a renamed version of the Tiggo 5X Pro, it gets a different look on the outside and inside.
Like what we saw at last year’s PIMS, the Tiggo Cross gets a similar front fascia to the larger Tiggo 7 Pro with wraparound LED headlights. There’s a large front grille which time goes all the way to below the headlights and wears the new Chery logo.

The side profile is largely the same except for a redesigned rear quarter panel, and five-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels finished in gray. The rear gets full-width LED taillights and a redesigned bumper.
Chery Auto Philippines did not provide us with any interior photos but we can expect this to be similar to what the Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro have but in a smaller package. They did mention that it will come with dual 10.25-inch screens for the driver’s instrument cluster and infotainment system.

Under the hood, it is also confirmed to come powered by a 1.5-liter engine. What we do not know is whether it will come naturally-aspirated or as a turbocharged mild-hybrid.
If it were to be the former, it would produce 114 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque, mated to a CVT. The latter would make much more at 156 horsepower and 230 Nm, also mated to a CVT.
We are however banking on the former as Chery Auto Philippines did announce that pricing will be at less than Php 1-million.
We won’t have to wait too long as the 2025 MIAS is just around the corner. Oh, and the Chinese automaker will also be previewing two new models: the Tiggo Grand Tour MPV, and Tiggo ReV. Whatever these are, we’ll find out soon.
