Could this be the next generation of the Hyundai Starex?

We might see a new third generation of the Hyundai Starex soon.

What could be the next generation of Hyundai’s only passenger van has been spied while testing. The images which show a van in heavy camouflage were uploaded in a French forum in March and give us an idea of what the van could look like.

What immediately gives it away as a Hyundai is the front grille which though wrapped heavily still shows some details that are undoubtedly part of the brand’s current design language. Also shown in the photos are possible split headlights which is a design trend that Hyundai has been using in its SUVs just like the Santa Fe and Kona.

Side photos show a completely new wheel design which also show the brand’s logo. Another immediate giveaway that is in fact a Hyundai, and a surer one. The lower portion of the front windows also heads down diagonally from the windshield.

At the back, not many details can be seen due to the heavy camouflage. There are however photos of the interior which show a steering wheel that is lifted from the new Hyundai Sonata and Elantra sedans, but with a flat top and bottom. The rest of the dashboard is completely covered.

The current generation of the Starex was first launched in 2007. Since then it has undergone some minor updates to keep it fresh. Its most major update was in 2018 where it got a completely new front fascia and a more upscale interior.
