Did you know Lalamove has its own ride-hailing service in Lalamove Ride?

Ride-hailing is one way to get around the Metro, and arguably, the most convenient way to do so, as you can summon a car to your location from an app. Apps like Grab and motorcycle taxi services are the most common way to do so, but did you know that Lalamove has its own ride-hailing service, too?

It’s called Lalamove Ride, and this service isn’t exactly new. It’s been implemented within the app since January 2025, and at this moment, there are about 10,000+ partner drivers on the platform, with that number expected to double by June or July, according to Country Marketing Manager for Lalamove Philippines Trisha Apostol.

When you open your app, there’s a new section for “Ride”, and apart from the on-demand package delivery service the app is known for, you can choose either a sedan or SUV/MPV to book a ride. At the moment, motorcycles are not supported, but the company plans to expand the ride-hailing service to include two-wheelers as well.

One of the benefits of using Lalamove Ride is its scope of operations. Just like the delivery service, it works in these places: Metro Manila, South Luzon, specifically Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal, and in Central Luzon, with Bulacan, Pampanga (Angeles City, Mabalacat City, the City of San Fernando, Mexico, Magalang, Santo Tomas, San Simon, Apalit, Minalin), and Tarlac (Tarlac City, Concepcion, Bamban, and Capas).

The company hopes that more drivers will eventually join in, especially within Pampanga, Subic, and Cebu, to further expand its operations in those areas.

For those interested in joining, partner drivers must own their own vehicles to be used. Of course, a transport network vehicle service (TNVS) permit must be secured, too. Partners will also be able todo deliveries as an additional source of income, and they won’t be exclusive to Lalamove’s services, meaning they can work on other platforms too.

There are fuel incentives, and every ride is automatically insured for both the driver and passenger. Lalamove is also looking to expand its electrified fleet (which currently makes up less than 5% of its total fleet) by eventually partnering with other companies to offer incentives for these types of vehicles.

Will you consider using this service over the likes of more established competitors like Grab, Joyride Car, Xpress EV, or GreenGSM right away, or would you rather wait until it matures with more features?
