Ferrari Amalfi is the brand’s latest entry-level grand tourer

In Ferrari’s lineup, it usually has an entry-level model with an engine at the front. This was the case with the likes of the California, Portofino, and then most recently, the Roma. And after five years, that model has been replaced by the Amalfi sedan, an equally seductive and sensual grand tourer for those looking to get into the brand.
While it looks very similar to its predecessor, this is an all-new model.

Smoother, more refined bodylines are apparent, and while the new front face may remind you of a certain Japanese manufacturer’s design language, it’s actually more in line with the “visor” look found on the likes of the F80 and 12Cilindri, especially with the aero trickery the brand has employed to generate more downforce up front and back at the rear, which looks more robot-like.
Plus, this new shade of teal called Verde Costiera is inspired by the Amalfi coastline, from which this car’s name is derived.

The same 3.9-liter, twin-turbo V8 (F154) remains, but now pushes 640 horsepower and 760Nm of torque, with a higher redline of 7,600RPM thanks to improved turbocharging, tweaks to the engine block, camshafts, an improved engine control unit, tweaked exhaust, and low-viscosity oil. The eight-speed dual-clutch transmission has also been optimized to improve shifting smoothness and power delivery to the rear wheels.

The biggest change comes in the interior, where physical buttons make a return to the steering wheel. One of the biggest complaints from owners and journalists alike was that previous Ferrari cars had capacitive touch buttons that weren’t all that responsive, especially with the engine start-stop button.
Apart from this, the dual cockpit layout is there, bisecting the two seats with a single piece of aluminum in the center that houses controls like the shifter, wireless charger, and window controls. There is a new “monolithic layout” that has your 15.6-inch digital gauge cluster with a 10.25-inch landscape center touchscreen, and an optional third 8.8-inch touchscreen for the passenger.

Will we be seeing this in the country? Most likely, as Velocita Motors, the official distributor of Ferrari in the Philippines, has just recently introduced the 12Cilindri. For the moneyed individuals who want one, you know where to go.
