The Fiido Q1S wants to make your commute fun | E-Bike Review

It is no secret that commuting inside the cities of Metro Manila is hell. We have a lack of train and bus routes, difficult to book ride sharing vehicles, and extremely heavy traffic. The Fiido Q1S wants to solve that with a side of fun.

The Fiido Q1S is an electric bike that has been gaining popularity in recent years due to its innovative design. We were able to borrow one from Popcycle Ebike Center and this review will provide an overview of the key features and benefits of this two-wheeled electric personal mobility vehicle.

For me, one of the Fiido Q1S’s most notable features is its lightweight and compact design. Weighing at just 18kg, it is easy to transport and store, making it an ideal choice for those who need to commute or travel with their bike. It’s also a folding bike, which makes it easy to store in small spaces or transport in a car and, or on public transportation. We actually were able to fit it very easily in the backseat of an Isuzu D-MAX pickup truck.

Another benefit of the Fiido Q1S is its comfortable and ergonomic design. The bike features a cushioned saddle and high handlebars, allowing riders to be seated in a comfortable riding position.

As for its features, it has an LED headlight in front for night riding, as well as a rear reflector. We do wish it would come with a taillight as standard but we don’t mind as those are very affordable and can easily be purchased on online shopping websites. We also get 12-inch wheels and a front disc brake.

In terms of performance, the Fiido Q1S is powered by a 250W electric motor with a 36V 10 Ah lithium-ion battery. Popcycle E-bike Center says that it can go up to 25 kph and travel up to 55 km on a single charge. Charging time is also estimated at around 7 hours using a normal household outlet.

Riding the Fiido Q1S shows its quirks especially with its comfortable riding position which feels very natural. The location of the foot pegs also help a lot. Power and torque delivery is decent and pretty much what you’d expect from an electric vehicle. There is about a second of delay but we don’t mind as it is probably a safety feature.

The bike’s lightweight design also makes it easier to move around especially when taking turns. Do note though that its lighter weight also makes it more susceptible to being unstable and firm on bumpier roads. Perhaps this is best used in the confines of the more well-developed areas of Metro Manila such as the Makati Central Business District, Bonifacio Global City and McKinley Hill, and Ortigas Center. Still, that firmer ride does make it feel quite fun.

And by fun we mean adrenaline. Despite its top speed of just 25 kph which it can reach in just a few seconds, the Fiido Q1S does provide some kind of adrenaline rush which makes it extremely enjoyable to use and not tiring. Also, we feel that 25 kph is a locked top speed and it can definitely go faster if unlocked.

Overall, the Fiido Q1S is a high-quality and versatile electric bike that is suitable for a range of riders and purposes. Its compact and lightweight design makes it an ideal choice for commuters, while its powerful motor and long battery life make it a great option for recreational riders who want to explore the outdoors.

And to sum it all up, it’s fun!
