GAC Motor PH introduces all-new GS4 for Php 1.098M

GAC Motor Philippines is not ending 2021 quietly with the launch of its latest model, the all-new GS4 compact crossover, first announced during a media roundtable back in August this year.

The 2022 GAC GS4 was first unveiled for the Chinese market, under the Trumpchi brand, in 2019, a year after the GAC brand was introduced to the Philippine market. The version it replaces locally has been available in other markets since 2015 which means it really is about time the new generation is introduced.

Available in one variant only, the 1.5 270T GB, the GAC GS4 is completely new versus the outgoing model. In front, it gets a bolder and sleeker, more premium appearance. The 4-slat grille is flanked by Dual LED projector headlights with LED daytime running lights. On the side, it features a floating roof design and wears a set of 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels. At the back, you’ll find what GAC calls Laser-Beam Flying-wing LED taillights.

Inside the all-new GS4 is a more premium cabin with lots of soft-touch plastic and leather surfaces. It also features options of a two-tone or single-tone colour scheme. The former is a combination of black and caramel brown while the latter is all black with red stitching. Among its standard features are sport leather seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, 6-speaker audio system, and a multi-function steering wheel.

The 2022 GS4 also has a high-performance air-conditioning filter with PM1-level filtration that keeps clean and refreshing air in the cabin. It also filters over 99.7% of smaller dust particles, common dust, and pollen.

Under the hood, the all-new GAC GS4 gets an upgraded 1.5-liter turbocharged GDI petrol engine. It now produces 166 horsepower and 265 Nm of torque, an increase of 15 hp and 30 Nm of torque over the outgoing version. It is still paired to a 6-speed Aisin automatic transmission. GAC says that this should enable the vehicle to produce a smoother power output, better fuel economy, and lesser carbon emissions.

Drivers will also have the choice of eco, normal, and sport driving modes. There are also choices of steering modes which are comfort, normal, and sport.

For safety, the all-new GS4 gets Dual Front Airbags, Front Side Airbags, Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Electronic Stability Program, Hydraulic Brake Assist, Hill Hold Control, Hill Descent Control, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, and ISOFIX Childseat Anchors.

A total of five color options are available for the all-new GAC GS4. These are Lightning Blue, Rosefinch Red, Benite Gray, Ivory White, and Elegant Black. Buyers will also be able to take advantage of a 5-year or 150,000 kilometer warranty, whichever comes first.

The lone variant of the 2022 GAC GS4 is now available at all GAC Motor dealerships for a very competitive suggested retail price of Php 1,098,000. Not only is it more affordable than the outgoing version, but it also undercuts most of its main competition such as the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro, Geely Azkarra, and Ford Territory.
