Geely Motor PH hints at the local launch of the EX2 electric hatchback

Even if the long-teased Geely EX5 EM-i is yet to arrive in our market, slated for a launch within the coming months, Geely Motor Philippines (GMP) is already hinting at its next model that’s set to arrive in our market, and it’s something we already know of.
Confirmed during a previous media and dealer trip to China last year was the upcoming arrival of the Geely EX2, the brand’s all-electric hatchback, which is taking aim at the likes of the BYD Dolphin and the BYD Seagull, the latter being the most popular full EV in our market for 2025.

It recently earned the title of the World No.1 selling car in A/B segments and China’s best-selling model across all segments, spanning from Jan 2025 to Dec 2025, selling 465,775 units. In fact, it even set an industry record of achieving cumulative deliveries of 500,000 units in just 14 months after its first launch. In Brazil, the model ranked second in local electric vehicle sales just 16 business days after launch.

We also already have an idea of some of its possible variants and specifications for our market. It might come in Pro and Max variants, both powered by a single rear-mounted electric motor that’s capable of 116 horsepower and 150Nm of torque, paired to a 39.4kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery that allows it to drive for up to 325km on a single charge. You can read more about the Geely EX2’s possible specifications here.

With Geely Motor Philippines still trying to gain back lost traction in our market, do you think the EX2 will help them, together with the soon-to-be-launched EX5 EM-i?
