Geely PH Continues 2021 with Strong Performance in May
The month of May proves to be another win for Geely Philippines, under the distributorship of Sojitz G Auto Philippines Corporation (SGAP) as they continue to keep the brand’s local market standing strong. Despite the continues mess happening in the country due to the pandemic, Geely Philippines logged another top-selling record for its Coolray with 186 units sold in May.
Based on CAMPI and AVID reports, the Coolray kept its market leadership in the subcompact crossover SUV with a 33% market share, month-to-date (MTD). Meanwhile, the Okavango ranked number 3 in the mid-size crossover SUV segment with 151 units sold in the same month.
CAMPI and AVID also reported that in May, Geely maintained its number 9 ranking in total industry sales (including all segments) with year-to-date sales of 1,987 units. At the same time, Geely Philippines ranked 8th among passenger vehicles segment to include passenger cars, SUVs, and MPVs.
“We are pleased to see the good reception the Coolray and Okavango have been receiving in the market. This proves that we are offering our customers what they really need at this time,” Sojitz G Auto Philippines President & CEO Yosuke Nishi said.
Globally, Geely Automobile Holding Limited Group logged a total exports sales volume of 10,384 units in May 2021, which is twice higher than the May 2020 record. The group also recorded a 26% increase in total sales volume during the first 5 months of 2021 with 530,074 units.
