Geely PH to increase Okavango pricing by Php 80K-100K

The Geely Okavango has easily become one of the most popular models in the family MPV segment, though at the same time it can also compete in the midsize SUV segment. Nevertheless, it really is a popular model.

With popularity and demand comes price increases and that’s exactly what will happen soon as we got our hands on Geely Philippines’ new pricelist which shows price increases for the brand’s flagship Azkarra compact SUV and Okavango which is its largest offering.

First for the Geely Azkarra, the lone 1.5 EMS Luxury variant will now be priced at Php 1,668,000. That’s up by Php 70,000 compared to its current pricing of Php 1,598,000.

Meanwhile, all three variants of the Geely Okavango will receive price hikes. The entry-level 1.5 EMS Comfort will now be priced at Php 1,308,000 (up Php 100,000), the 1.5 EMS Urban at Php 1,408,000 (up Php 80,000), and the top-spec 1.5 EMS Urban Plus at Php 1,678,000 (up Php 100,000).

Like we mentioned, it is a possibility that the price increases are an effect of increased demand for the abovementioned Geely models but there are actually other factors to consider as well such as the global microchip shortage which continues to cause production-related problems for nearly all car companies globally, including in China where Geely is from.

Many may complain about these price increases but for those who’ll be availing of monthly installment plans, there won’t be a large or obvious effect. So what do you think of the Geely Azkarra and Okavango’s price increases?
