Geely PH to officially launch Azkarra on May 30
The official distributor of Geely in the Philippines, Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP) is set to officially unveil the second model for the brand’s Philippine-lineup. The Geely Azkarra compact crossover SUV will be officially launched online on May 30, 2020.
The Azkarra was already previewed in the country through a mall display in March. It is known as the Boyue in other markets and is also rebadged as the Proton X70 in Malaysia. It will be the first compact crossover in the country to offer a mild-hybrid powertrain.
Some features of the Azkarra include LED headlights and daytime running lights, LED taillights, 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels, power tailgate, choices of synthetic or Nappa leather seats, a wireless charger, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster.
There will be two powertrain options for the crossover locally. The first option is a 1.5-liter turbocharged three cylinder that produces 177 hp and 255 Nm of torque, paired to a 7-speed wet dual clutch transmission. That is the same engine that powers the Coolray subcompact crossover. The second option is the same engine but with a 48-volt Electric Motor Synergy mild-hybrid system. The combined output of the gas engine and EMS system is 190 hp and 300 Nm of torque, also paired to a 7-speed wet DCT.
Pricing for the 2020 Geely Azkarra was already announced prior to the model’s initial preview. It starts at Php 1,438,000 for the Premium FWD variant, and Php 1,598,000 for the Luxury AWD variant with the mild-hybrid system.
The online launch of the all-new Geely Azkarra will be streamed online on May 30, 2020 through the official Geely Philippines Facebook page and YouTube channel, and the Geely Philippines website.
