Geely’s Radar brand to enter PH market under UAAGI

Another new automotive brand from China is entering the Philippine market, this time it’s Geely’s Radar sub-brand.

It will be part of the United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI) portfolio which already includes Geely-owned Lynk & Co, along with other Chinese brands Chery, Foton, and BAIC.

Radar, also known as Riddara, is a subsidiary of Geely Automobile International Corporation (GAIC) and is focused on producing lifestyle-oriented electric vehicles. The brand currently has a presence in over 50 global markets, including neighboring Thailand.

Right now, the brand only makes one model, the RD6, also known as the Horizon or King Kong in other markets.

Based on the popular Geely Okavango midsize crossover, the RD6 is powered by options of either a single or dual electric motor setup capable of producing between 272 horsepower to 428 horsepower, with a driving range of up to 600km.

It also offers a 1,200L cargo bed capacity with a 450kg payload, a 70L frunk (front trunk), and a 3,000kg towing capacity.

According to UAAGI, the Radar brand will be available in our market within this year, with the official launch and other details to be announced soon.
