Gran Turismo 7 adds three quirky European cars for the June update

While we’ve seen the news of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra joining the future roster of Gran Turismo 7, we won’t be getting that new car right away, as it usually takes 270 working days for a car to be developed for the game, as head Kazunori Yamauchi stated previously.

So for now, sit tight as Polyphony Digital has given us the June update (version 1.60) with three new cars from Europe.

First up is the weird and wacky ‘87 Citroën BX 19 TRS.

Undeniably a design that screams early 80’s, the Citroën BX features many notable aspects, such as a design penned by Marcello Gandini and the brand’s signature hydropneumatic suspension that uses gas and oil for a uniquely smooth ride with a freely adjustable ride height is also present. Despite using just a 1.9-liter gas engine, it’s aided by the car’s very aerodynamic shape and lightweight body.

Then there is a rally icon most will recognize, the ‘92 Lancia Delta HF Integrale Rally Car.

The Delta has won a crazy six consecutive WRC titles from 1987 to 1992, being one of the most dominant rally cars in WRC history. Driven by legends like Carlos Sainz Sr. and Juha Kankkunen, this car, draped in the iconic blue-and-white Martini livery, was Lancia’s flagbearer for the Group A class.

This Delta HF Integrale would be the last of the evolutions, with a legendary turbocharged 2.0-liter four-banger sending power to all four wheels with a bias towards the rear, meaning this car is deadly on and off the tarmac.

Finally is another “regular” crossover that you can actually buy in real life, the ‘21 Peugeot 2008 Allure.

This compact crossover is notable for being incredibly stylish with the new “lion’s claws and fangs” motif front and back, with the then-new 3D i-Cockpit concept being front and center. Our local variant has a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder engine with 130 horsepower and 230Nm mated to a six-speed automatic, so whatever variant gets introduced into Gran Turismo 7 should be fun to throw around once fully tuned.

Apart from this, new events to use these cars in have been added, the Gran Turismo Sophy AI can now be used on the Alsace-Village track layout, and you can now visit Scotland in Gran Turismo Scapes.
