Gran Turismo 7’s latest patch brings the Ioniq 5 N and a couple of interesting cars

Are you excited to drive one of these cars?

One of the strengths that the Gran Turismo series has over other video games is its incredibly interesting lineup of cars. The latest entry, Gran Turismo 7, is no exception, having benefited from multiple updates here and there to pad its roster.

For the first update of 2025 (Update 1.55), we don’t see any new tracks, but rather, four very interesting cars.

The closest most will ever get to driving one of these.

Headlining the update is the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, one of the hottest electric vehicles of recent.

The Ioniq 5 N sets itself apart with an exciting driving experience— mainly by how it uses its dual-motor powertrain with 650 horsepower by simulating an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, along with other N-specific tweaks that earned this a lot of accolades. We’re curious to see how well the game will replicate the traits of this car.

It’s now easy to recreate your favorite ’90s F1 livery.

Next is a Gran Turismo original— the F3500-A. This is meant to be inspired by ‘90s Formula One cars, complete with a mid-mounted 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 with 773 horsepower.

Expect to see more classic Formula One liveries crop up soon.

Did you own a Honda Civic EF before?

Then, we have the Honda Civic Si Extra (EF) ‘87, one of the earlier sporty Civics.

Those who owned one of these in the past will enjoy reminiscing hearing the sound of its 1.6-liter naturally aspirated D16 engine that pumped out 122 horsepower. Of course, if that’s not enough, the game will most likely allow you to swap in different engines, even potentially the K20 from the latest Civic Type R (FL5).

Sometimes, we wish we got this funky-looking crossover instead.

And to wrap it up, we get a “regular” car in the form of the Toyota C-HR S ‘18.

While the Philippines never got this funky-looking crossover, this shares the TNGA-C platform with the likes of the Corolla Cross. It seems to be using a hybrid powertrain, so it should be interesting to see how this car performs virtually, especially once tuned up.

Aside from three more races, improvements to Gran Turismo Sophy AI, and additional Scapes locations, there is much more to unearth when the patch goes live on January 30.
