Here is your first look at the 2022 Honda Civic
Back in November last year, Honda unveiled what was the prototype version of the next generation Honda Civic which is set to be released for the 2022 model year sometime this year. Knowing Honda, prototypes of their future models are essentially production ready.
It seems to be the case again as the 2022 Honda Civic has just been revealed, albeit with a single photo. As expected as with other prototype models Honda has shown, the 2022 Civic shares much with the prototype shown to the public last year.
Set to be launched on April 28, the all-new Civic receives a full though more subdued redesign compared to the current and outgoing generation. Honda says the 2022 Civic will be the most fun to drive and technologically advanced sedan in the model’s nearly 50-year history. The photo released by Honda shows the Civic in its top-spec Touring trim which most likely won’t make it to the Philippines.
From what we can see, the front grille retains its body-colored finish as seen on the prototype. This is similar to what can be seen on the current generation Honda Jazz. The headlights remain the same as well and are expected to be multi-reflector LED units just like on the current Civic. The production version also now shows a pair of fog lights and larger intakes on the bumper. On the side, there is a set of two-tone alloy wheels which should be around 18-inches in size. Overall, the 2022 Honda Civic features a more simple but still sporty appearance.
There are no other images available yet showing other angles of the exterior as well as the interior of the 2022 Honda Civic. We are expecting it to remain similar if not the same as the prototype version shown before, including the sketch of the interior.
There is also no information as to what exact specifications the all-new Civic will have. These are expected to be released on April 28, 2021. There is also word that Honda Cars Philippines already plans to introduce the all-new Civic locally before the year ends.
