Here’s how much pickup trucks now cost with excise taxes

One of the biggest pieces of news recently was about the increase in pickup truck prices starting this month, no thanks to the Capital Markets Efficiency Promotions Act (CMEPA) that removes the excise tax exemption of pickup trucks in our market.

The CMEPA aims to simplify taxation of passive income, however, it also amended a handful of sections of the National Internal Revenue Code, including that of the exemption of double-cab pickup trucks from the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN Law).
With an implementation date of July 1, 2025, a handful of automotive brands have already increased their prices. We’ve compiled below a list of brands and models who have already announced the new pricing of their pickup trucks below. This list will also be updated as more updates on the price adjustments come in.
This list is updated as of January 20, 2026.
