Here’s the all-new Ford Territory in the metal
Ford Philippines has just introduced the all-new Territory. The new compact crossover fills the gap between the subcompact Ecosport and Everest and Explorer midsize SUVs. For those unfamiliar with the Territory, it was developed by Ford Motor Company and its Chinese joint venture partner Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC).
Ford Philippines actually scheduled short individual test drives for members of the Philippine automotive media. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we unfortunately had to cancel our time with the Territory. Nevertheless, the people at Ford were nice enough to include actual photos of their latest model in their press releases which we will share with you here and perhaps give a short review of as well.
Exterior
Let’s start off with the exterior. The Ford Territory is definitely a Ford and nowhere close to its Chinese sibling, the Yusheng S330. Well they do share similar side profiles and a similar rear face but that’s it. In front, full LED lighting is standard. The headlights, daytime running lights, and turn signals are all LED. I must also say that the front fascia looks a bit similar to the larger Ford Explorer, and that’s a very good thing.
Interior
What best describes the interior of the Ford Territory versus other vehicles in Ford’s lineup is that it’s different. Right in the center is a large 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Exclusive interior features on the Titanium+ are heated and cooled front seats, and a 10-inch fully-digital display instrument cluster with 3 selectable themes which are Normal, Sport, and Fashion which kinda sounds interesting. The Titanium+ also comes with ambient lighting with seven different color options. Those seats by the way look really comfortable and I would really love to have some time in the Territory.
Pricing
With the all-new Ford Territory fully-loaded with features and tech, you probably expect its pricing to be around the 2-million peso range. Well you’ll be surprised to know that all-new Ford Territory’s pricing starts at just Php 1,179,000 for the Trend, while the Titanium+ goes for Php 1,299,000. In addition to that, as a launch offer, all customers who will purchase Ford Territory from August 14 to September 15, 2020 will get a free 3-year scheduled service plan (SSP) for a worry-free ownership experience.
We’re looking forward to being able to do a full review on the all-new Ford Territory soon.
