Honda Cars PH announces recall for 2023-2024 CR-V
Own a current generation Honda CR-V? You might want to check this out. Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) is issuing a voluntary recall for select units of the compact crossover due to two reasons.
The first is specific to the top-spec CR-V RS e:HEV e-CVT variant and is due to the vehicle’s high-pressure fuel pump. It may have cracks on the Core B which might result in gasoline fumes entering the vehicle cabin while idling or driving.
Next is related to the vehicle’s steering gearbox. Users may experience snagging, unusual sounds, and vibrations while turning. There is no mention if this is for all variants or specific to select variants only.
This is caused by a decrease in grease amount in the worm gear and meshing area of the Electric Power Steering Gearbox during use, resulting in an unusual sound and an unsmooth turn from steering while turning or ‘sticky steering’ that might make the driver feel a sense of unease.
A total of 1,351 units sold from 2023 to 2024 are affected by the high-pressure fuel pump recall, while 5,505 units are affected by the steering gearbox recall. Inspection and/or replacement parts and labor fees will all be free.
Affected owners are encouraged to visit any of the 38 Honda Cars dealerships and three authorized Service Centers nationwide beginning January 17, 2025. Customers can also verify if their vehicle is affected by encoding its 17-digit Chassis Number or Vehicle Identification Number in the Chassis/VIN search tool of their recall information webpage.
Customers can also contact Honda’s customer service hotline, 1-800-1000-HONDA (46632) or (02) 857-7240 between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM from Monday to Friday, or email [email protected] for further assistance.
Thankfully, no cases or accidents related to either recalls have been reported locally. HCPI also says that they apologize for any inconveniences caused by these recalls.
