Honda Cars PH to launch HR-V RS at 2022 PIMS

When Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) launched the all-new HR-V subcompact crossover back in April, there was one variant missing from the lineup. That was the RS variant which is available in neighboring markets and was the top-of-the-line option for the previous generation.

Now, we just got confirmation that HCPI will finally be introducing the HR-V RS Turbo at the 2022 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) which will happen this coming September 15 to 18. The event will also feature Honda’s advanced technologies, namely Honda SENSING and the new Honda CONNECT.

HCPI has not revealed any information about the new Honda HR-V RS Turbo but given the “turbo” word in their announcement is already a dead giveaway that the top-of-the-line HR-V will also be powered by the mid-spec V Turbo variant’s 1.5-liter Inline 4-Cylinder VTEC Turbo gasoline engine that produces 177 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque, paired to an Earth Dreams continuously variable transmission (CVT). As of now, it does not look like Honda will be introducing the e:HEV version locally.

Other additions for the HR-V RS Turbo could be, based on versions from Thailand and Indonesia, are chrome accented mesh grille, RS badging, larger 18-inch alloy wheels, blacked-out roof and pillars, clear taillight lenses, and red interior stitching, among others.

As for other happenings at the Honda exhibit, the official event teaser makes mention of a new model which visitors can take a peek of. That could be the all-new Honda BR-V which was revealed a year ago in Indonesia. More details on that can be found here.

Customers will also be in for a treat with freebies, additional and exclusive cash discounts, free 1-Year PMS for on-site reservations on top of the existing promos, and up to 50% discount on select accessories. These offers are available only at the Honda exhibit during the motor show.

HCPI will also present the capabilities of its advanced technology platform, Honda CONNECT. This upcoming technology aims to provide safety, security, and convenience through smartphone connectivity. The platform serves as a personal assistant connected to the vehicle.

Visitors can also experience key features of Honda SENSING suite of safety technology through test drives. This active safety package is available in models such as the CR-V SX Diesel AWD, HR-V, and Civic. Other Honda models available for customer testing include the City 1.5 RS, City Hatchback 1.5 RS, Civic RS Turbo, CR-V SX AWD Honda SENSING, BR-V 1.5 V, HR-V V Turbo, and Brio 1.2 RS.

HCPI definitely has a lot in store for this year’s edition of the PIMS. Again, the 2022 Philippine International Motor Show is happening this coming September 15 to 18, 2022, 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, at the World Trade Center in Pasay City
