Honda gives Chinese-market Jazz a sportier look
The fourth generation Honda Jazz, known as the Fit in other markets, was revealed during the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. It got lots of new tech and features, but one main subject of criticism aimed at it was its design. Some say it looks like a bug, some did some editing to give it a grille and other sportier appearance. Even Honda released an image of a Modulo version which did receive some praise.
Still, the base car is not exactly the most pleasing to everyone’s eyes. Fast forward to June 2020, Honda has released a new version of the Honda Jazz with a new standard grille, but for the Chinese market.
This new version is called the Honda Fit Sport. It is something like the Jazz RS in our market. What differentiates this model from those of Japan and Europe is the front grille. It also gets a more angular bumper. Both give it an overall sportier looking appearance on the outside.
The rest of the vehicle remains pretty much unchanged. This means the Chinese-market Jazz still gets the same dashboard design, and other features such as the 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and digital instrument cluster.
There is no news whether we’ll be getting the all-new Honda Jazz in the Philippines. There are also rumors of it not coming at all with Honda testing a new 5-door hatchback version of the City-subcompact sedan. While we actually do like the Japanese and European versions, we would love to see the Chinese version as well in our market if Honda Cars Philippines does decide to bring it here.
