Honda gives us a glimpse at the next generation HR-V, confirms February 18 debut
The current generation Honda HR-V has been around for almost eight years now, being first revealed in 2013, after a few years of absence in Honda’s crossover lineup. The Japanese brand is now working on the third generation version and has now released a set of teaser photos.
The images were posted on the company’s website for its home market of Japan where it is known as the Vezel. Not much can be seen in the photos as with most teaser images. At least Honda released not one but four images to tease the all-new version of the Vezel, two of the exterior and two of the interior.
Based on the photos, the all-new Vezel or HR-V will get a blacked-out roof which is still a trend in the automotive industry, and a slim-set of taillights, plus a sloping rear windshield. The teaser image of the new model’s rear does remind us a bit of Mazda.
Inside, we see that the all-new Vezel will also be getting another trendy design feature, a tablet-style infotainment system which comes with Apple CarPlay connectivity and most probably Android Auto as well. Also visible are rotary dials which replaces the touch-sensitive controls for the climate control system on the current model. As with the outside, the teaser photo gives us some Mazda vibes as well.
Honda has announced the official reveal date of this all-new generation for the Vezel/HR-V to be on February 18, 2021. There are also some rumors that the HR-V will no longer be a rebadged Vezel so we’ll have to wait for some more updates from Honda.
