The Hyundai Ioniq 9 is the World’s Best Large SUV at the 2026 Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year Awards

Since its world premiere in late 2024, the Hyundai Ioniq 9 has been able to achieve big when it comes to awards, winning 2026 German Premium Car of the Year, IIHS Top Safety Pick+, and a Red Dot Award, among others. Now, it has another one up its sleeve.
The Korean automaker’s largest battery electric vehicle was recently awarded as the World’s Best Large SUV at the 2026 Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year (WWCOTY) Awards where it was selected by 84 female automotive journalists from 54 countries across five continents, and besting 20 other vehicles.
The WWCOTY says that the Hyundai Ioniq 9 won in this category thanks to its generous interior space, modularity, and its clear focus on comfort for all occupants, along with its electric technology.
“Hyundai IONIQ 9 clearly demonstrates how advanced technology and everyday usability can go hand in hand. Its fast and efficient charging capability, outstanding interior space and high overall quality set a new benchmark in the large electric SUV segment. This award also confirms that Hyundai’s commitment to innovation and excellence is consistent, as this is not the first time the brand has been recognized by our jury,” said WWCOTY Executive President Marta García.
