The Hyundai Stargazer is coming to PH soon
It looks like the Mitsubishi Xpander, and Toyota Avanza and Veloz will soon have a new competitor as Hyundai Motor Philippines announced today in a media lunch event that the all-new Stargazer compact 7-seater MPV will be part of their lineup.
The Hyundai Stargazer was first unveiled just last month for the Indonesian market as the Korean automaker’s entry into the popular segment. While nothing is definite yet, it should arrive before the end of the year.
Looking at its exterior, the Stargazer is heavily inspired by the larger Staria as seen with its full-width LED daytime running light strip in front and headlights in the bumper. This gives it an equally futuristic appearance as the larger Hyundai. The rear then gets LED taillights which when lit-up resemble the letter “H”.
Inside, the Stargazer gets an attractive and tech-filled cabin. Among its equipment are 2nd row captain’s chairs, digital instrument cluster, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, foldable tray tables, ambient lighting, and a wireless phone charger.
Under the hood of the Hyundai Stargazer is a naturally-aspirated 1.5-liter Inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 115 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque, paired to either a 6-speed manual transmission or CVT. For safety, it gets Hyundai’s Smartsense suite of advanced driver-assistance tech. This includes Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist.
Given that nothing is final as of now, we do not know yet what the Philippine-spec Hyundai Stargazer will be like. In the meantime, we’ll just have to wait. We do hope that Hyundai Motor Philippines does at least give us a preview at the upcoming 2022 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) next month.
