Is Ford PH introducing a new Territory Hybrid Platinum variant?

The Ford Territory may be a hit or miss to some in our market, but it’s surely one of Ford Philippines’ most popular offerings. Last year, it even entered the world of electrification with an all-hybrid lineup.

Currently available in the Philippines in Trend or Titanium X variants, the American automaker may soon be adding a third variant, specifically a new Platinum variant that will become the compact crossover’s range-topper, sitting above the Titanium X.

As with many of our scoops these days, this is based on the Department of Energy’s List of Recognized EVs which shows the additional variant of the fairly popular compact crossover. Thanks to that, we also have an idea of what to expect from the Territory Platinum.

This gives us a hint of what to expect.

A single photo shows the Territory Titanium X, but with highlighted sections where we’ll be seeing changes. According to that, the Territory Platinum will come with redesigned front and rear bumpers and a new set of wheels. The roof has also been highlighted, possibly pointing at a blacked-out roof finish.

We can only assume that this will be based on the Taiwanese-spec Ford Territory which was introduced late last year, and you can see in the photos. Based on our research, it comes with updated bumper designs, a new front grille, unique alloy wheels, and a blacked-out roof.

Changes might be limited to the exterior.

For now, that’s all we know when it comes to physical differences. Mechanically, we can expect it to be powered by the same hybrid 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and electric motor setup from the current Territory lineup, paired to a 1.83kWh battery, and making a combined 245 horsepower.

Other than that, there isn’t much info regarding the possible Ford Territory Hybrid Platinum. We’ll definitely keep you posted on any developments, but all we can do for now is just wait.

Do you think a Platinum variant would be a great addition to the Ford Territory’s lineup?
