Isuzu PH Teases 2022 MU-X
Not so long ago, the 2022 Isuzu MU-X was caught completely uncovered on a trailer truck along the South Luzon Expressway. This signaled that the much-awaited SUV is close to a local launch.
Well it definitely looks like we’re close to seeing just that as Isuzu Philippines has posted a teaser on their social media pages for what is obviously the upcoming launch of the 2022 MU-X.
Other than the teaser showing the front end, we’re not sure of what features and specifications the local Isuzu MU-X will have. Based on earlier spy shots though, we can confirm that it will get 20-inch alloy wheels, and LED lighting in front and at the back. Inside, we’re also expecting to have similar, if not better levels of quality as the current generation D-Max.
Nothing is final yet as to what will be under the hood but we do expect it to have the same powertrains as it’s pick-up truck sibling, the D-Max. There should be choices of a 3.0 L 4JJ3-TCX turbodiesel engine for higher variants while lower variants should get the smaller 1.9 L RZ4E turbodiesel carried-over from the outgoing model. The 3.0 L 4JJ3 is good for 187 hp and 450 Nm of torque while the 1.9 L RZ4E produces 148 hp and 350 Nm.
With the 2022 Isuzu MU-X now confirmed to launch very soon, it will definitely heat up the hotly-contested mid-size pick-up based SUV segment especially with the upcoming launches as well of the updated 2022 Nissan Terra (also already spotted on local roads) and the expected arrival of the next generation Ford Everest next year. Hopefully we’ll find out the exact launch date soon.
