It looks like the refreshed Hyundai Ioniq 5 is already in PH
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 has been available in our market since 2023 and has gained a fair bit of popularity with a good number of examples seen on our roads today. Last year, an update was introduced in South Korea and it looks like it’s already here in the Philippines.
This is according to a Facebook Marketplace post by an excited Hyundai sales agent that we came across, showing what appears to be the refreshed version of the fully-electric crossover. Check out the screenshots below:
If you can’t tell, that’s definitely the updated Ioniq 5 with its new front and rear bumpers, new alloy wheels design, larger rear spoiler, and added rear windshield wiper.
There are no photos of the interior but it should come with a new three-spoke steering wheel, a traditional style glove compartment, a new layout for the movable center console, and more physical buttons for frequently used functions.
We can also expect this to come with an updated powertrain with a larger 84.0 kWh battery (up from 77.4 kWh) that helps increase driving range from 458 km to 485 km.
Other possible changes based on the Korean version are new shock absorbers, more rigid cowl crossbar, reinforcements for the rear wheels and lower part of the vehicle, as well as additional noise insulation.
As of this writing, there is no information on the Hyundai Motor Philippines website yet which still shows the outgoing version. As such, we don’t know yet about pricing but given that the changes are minimal, we are not expecting a huge price difference compared to the outgoing pre-refresh version. For reference, current pricing is at Php 3,068,000 for the GLS RWD Standard Range, and Php 3,698,000 for the GLS RWD Extended Range.
